Bow Tie Cat Collar Pattern
Because it's nearly New Years and because I care about your felines looking festive, I've decided to write a blog post so that I can re-share a free pattern I featured a few years ago on my Instagram.
That pattern, my friends, is for a simple yet cute Bow Tie cat collar! These sweet little collars were one of the popular non-hat items in my Etsy shop. Oh, and I hate to even have to say it but this pattern is for personal use only please! Do not duplicate, re-post, or share without permission. This pattern is not intended to be used to create a finished item for profit, or to be redistributed for profit.
Now back to the fun stuff - the pattern! Details are below. Enjoy! Post your project online #scooterknits so that I can see what all you creative cat loving knitters make!

What You Need :
(2) DPN in U.S. 4/ 3.25mm; 15-20 yards DK Weight Yarn (chose a fiber with stretch, like a wool blend! No cotton!); Blunt Edge Yarn Needle
Instructions:
Begin by casting on 4sts and working in the I-cord technique until your work measures approximately 9.25" (10.5" when stretched)!
Cut 6" of yarn, thread onto yarn needle and pull through stitches. Holding both ends of your i-cord together, stitch evenly making sure your cord isn't twisted.
BOW TIE: Cast on 12 sts and knit in Stockinette stitch until your work measures 2". Bind off on purl side in pattern.
Time to assemble! Once your bow has reached 2", bind off and weave in ends to the center of the purled side. Cut a piece of yarn approximately 12". Pinch the bow together at center, and tie the yarn in the front of the bow. Wrap 2-3 times, and knot in back of the bow tie. Use extra yarn to stitch your bow tie to the collar, being sure to stitch to cover the seam! Et voila! Your Bow Tie Cat Collar is complete!
